Background

• 2009/2009 – Journeyman`s Certificate/Craft Certificate as a woodcarver.
• 2007/2009 – Masters (MA) studies in traditional arts at Telemark University College in Rauland.
• 2006/2007 – Woodcarving education – practical part of the education was with woodcarver Sogge.
• 2005/2006 – Woodcarving education – Hjerleid scool of woodcarving at Dovre.
• 1998/2005 – Worked as a teacher/head of department/assistant principal at Junior High School in Trondheim.
• 1993/1998 – Teacher education at College, additional education within art and science.
  

Work process

I work alone, and I am responsible for the whole process from idea to finished product:

• Idea
• Sketches/drawings
• Selection and preparation of materials
• Carving/turning
• Colouring/surface finishing
  

At several occasions I have cooperated with Inger Synnøve Killi from Dombås according to the colouring and painting of the products.

I often make tailored products based on customer’s wishes. I can make products/expressions that are new/experimental, or I can make copies of existing items. The products can be made based on the customer’s own ideas/sketches/photos, or I can take charge of the whole process based on a defined starting point. It is always important to have a close cooperation with the customer throughout the whole process.

Other work

I have worked for the company WWW Verktøy AS (www.verktoyas.no) at several occasions, where I demonstrate different techniques and tools.

In addition to this, I can arrange different courses within woodcarving and woodturning. The courses will be adjusted according to participants’ skills, and I can arrange courses both for groups and individually.
